Amy Grace, LPC PMH-C Perinatal Mental Health Specialist

You’re tired of feeling miserable in your pregnancy or postpartum period.

You see Smiling faces of mothers in ads and on social media and think they must be faking it, because that is definitely not how you feel.

Maybe you're feeling sudden unexplained feelings of depression or anxiety, or perhaps what you were hoping would be a time of joy has turned out to be anything but. You may be struggling to complete your day-to-day activities, or simply not finding any enjoyment in your life right now. Perhaps you’re feeling like you can’t handle this and questioning whether you have what it takes to be a mom at all.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life. Worse yet, you’re worried that it isn’t just impacting you anymore. Now that you are a mother, it’s impact your baby too!

Sound like you?

Worrying nonstop about what is going on in your body or with your baby

Crying at the drop of the hat….or pacifier

Feeling irritable toward your loved ones and taking your feelings out on them

Lacking energy to get your growing to-do list done.

Not able to focus on what really matters to you

Pregnancy and Postpartum Therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can feel like yourself again. You can get out of this funk. You can truly delight in this stage of life.

And I can help you get there.

Perinatal Therapy helps you do 3 things:

  • Identify the root causes of the problems you are experiencing.

  • Process those scary or embarrassing thoughts and feelings in a space without judgment, with a therapist who truly gets it.

  • Learn new tools and coping skills to resolve the issues, so you can move forward with the joy you deserve in your motherhood journey.

I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to Perinatal Therapy comes from a place of hope and compassion: believing that while this season of life is normally ridiculously hard, it can be beautiful and you can be the mother you dream of being.

Give the gift of a healthier, happier you to yourself, your baby, and your whole family

Questions?

FAQs

  • There a variety of ways that women heal through perinatal therapy. These may include: sharing their thoughts and feelings in a safe place where they don't feel judged, getting insight and encouragement on common perinatal topics, utilizing EMDR or Brainspotting to address thoughts, fears, worries, feelings etc, creating a supportive and helpful plan for birth and postpartum and more.

  • As soon as possible! The sooner you get help, the sooner you will heal and the benefits will be enjoyed by you and your family. Don't wait to see if it gets better on its own. Too many do that and regret not getting help sooner.

  • In addition to all of my general therapy training and specific tools, I am a PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) and have gone through many additional hours of Perinatal Mental Health training, attend conferences, participate in groups with other maternal mental health professionals, am constantly reading and learning on these topics.
